Authority Approval is required for all subdivision and site plans in the municipalities of Fair Haven, Little Silver, Monmouth Beach, Oceanport, Shrewsbury, and West Long Branch connecting to the Authority’s Sanitary Sewer system, except for minor subdivisions not involving the creation of a new lot.

All projects requiring a Treatment Works Approval, in all towns, must first receive preliminary subdivision and/or site plan approval from the appropriate body of the municipality having jurisdiction, prior to filing for Authority approval.

In the Authority's Member Towns, it is important that the Certificate of Occupancy not be issued prior to the builder/homeowner providing proof that the Authority has inspected the sanitary sewer connection and that the Authority’s Connection Fee and all other related fees has been paid.

Additionally, demolition permits must not be issued without proof that the sanitary sewer has been properly inspected and disconnected, as per the Authority’s Rules and Regulations. The Authority issues certificates for disconnections and reconnections, with a raised seal, for submission to the Municipality's Construction Office indicating the property has been properly inspected for a disconnection or reconnection.
